Tour Plan
The Essaouira excursion departs from Marrakech at 8:00 AM. You will cross the Houaz plains heading toward the village of Sidi Lmokhtar, located west of Marrakech. There will be a coffee break, followed by a drive through the unique argan forest in this region. Here, you’ll witness the marvelous and rare sight of goats climbing argan trees in search of argan nuts.
You can stop at a local cooperative that produces argan oil before continuing to the Argan Valley, a vineyard established by a French wine connoisseur. If you wish, you can taste some wine before heading to Essaouira.
Upon arrival, you will meet your local guide who will accompany you on a tour of the city. You will visit the Medina, the Mellah (the old Jewish quarter), the Kasbah (the former military fortress), and the fishermen’s port.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will have free time to enjoy the city, its beautiful beaches, and its relaxed atmosphere. Savor a cup of coffee or mint tea at the famous Moulay Elhassan square while listening to atmospheric Gnawa music.
Finally, your driver will take you back to Marrakech. Your day trip from Marrakech to Essaouira will end around 6:00 PM, when your driver drops you off at your hotel or riad.
