About this experience
Ballooning over Marrakech starts before dawn. You are collected from your hotel in the dark, driven out to the launch field north of the city, and watch the envelopes being inflated by burner light while the crew prepares. The flight lifts off around sunrise and lasts roughly 40 to 45 minutes, drifting over Berber villages, palm groves and the flat plain towards the Atlas, which catches the first light along the ridge. Because a balloon moves with the wind there is almost no sensation of speed, and the basket is stable enough for children who can see over the edge. After landing there is a traditional breakfast in a Berber tent, and a flight certificate. You are usually back at your hotel by mid-morning.
