One-day group excursion from Marrakech to the Ouzoud waterfalls

The Ouzoud waterfalls are the highest in North Africa, dropping more than 100 metres in three tiers through a red rock gorge about 150 km north-east of Marrakech. This shared day trip takes you out of the city early, through olive groves and Berber villages of the Middle Atlas, to one of the greenest corners of Morocco. You walk down through the olive terraces to the foot of the falls, where the spray keeps the air cool even in high summer. Small boats take visitors close to the base of the cascade, and troops of wild Barbary macaques live in the trees along the path. There is free time for lunch on a terrace overlooking the water before the drive back. This is a shared group tour in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus, which keeps the price low. If you would prefer to travel at your own pace, the same trip is available privately.
